Institut Curie’s Technology Transfer Office is looking for a :

Patent Engineer (M/F) in the Intellectual Property Division.

Reporting to the head of the Intellectual Property Division, you will contribute to the management of Intellectual Property (IP) in accordance with Institut Curie's IP policy and support Institut Curie's collaborators throughout the process from detection to protection in order to promote the exploitation of the societal and economic potential of their innovations.


More mainly, your missions will be to :

  • Contribute to the management of Institut Curie's Intellectual Property by implementing its IP policy:

              > Participate in the detection and protection of Institut Curie's Intellectual Property

              > Evaluate the patentability of Institut Curie's new inventions

              > Ensure, if necessary, their protection, notably in collaboration with IP firms

  • Actively participate in the management of the patent portfolio, particularly with regard to co-ownership

  • Be a contact person for Intellectual Property issues within Institut Curie by interacting on a daily basis with researchers/doctors, business managers, lawyers and agents within the IP firms

  • Participate in awareness-raising and training activities on Intellectual Property issues

  • Monitor the latest developments in intellectual property and analyze Institut Curie's publications

  • Ensure a technological and strategic watch in the fields of interest to Institut Curie


  • You have a BAC+5 degree in biology, ideally with a PhD, you are an expert in patent law (CEIPI diploma) and have three years of experience in a development structure, specialized firm, or in the pharmaceutical industry
  • You are familiar with the French academic research ecosystem, the notions of agency, co-ownership with cotutelles.
  • You are a strong team player, autonomous, organized and rigorous, with good interpersonal skills and a good ability to synthesize information.
  • You are fluent in English and have good writing skills in French and English.
