Collaboration between the Institut Curie and DOSIsoft led to the development of proton therapy technology, ISOgray-Proton. It offers new modalities to facilitate the treatment of tumors near sensitive organs such as cranial base tumors.

Due to the high energy of the proton beams and the specific phenomenon of dose deposition, the planning of proton therapy requires a precise calculation of the particular dose to treat the uncertainties according to the technique of beam delivery. ISOgray- Proton now allows modeling and calculation of dose distributions with "Double Scattering" beams and PencilBeam Scanning (PBS) technologies of IBA proton therapy machines.

As the first center in France to implement ISOgray-Proton, the CPO confirms the promising results of the partnership. This proton therapy planning technology offers new modalities to facilitate the treatment of tumors near major organs and structures such as cranial base tumors, says Ludovic De Marzi, a medical physicist at the CPO.

This CE marking is a major step in the collaboration developed over the past 15 years between the Institut Curie and DOSIsoft, adds Amaury Martin, Director of Technology Transfer Office and Industrial Partnerships of the Institut Curie and Director of the Institut Carnot Curie Cancer .
